Who am I?

Who am I that I should write a blog?

I’ve thought for years it would be interesting to have a blog. I’ve had various ones off and on over the years, but none of them really took off and I found I went months or even years between posts. So why is this one different? Well… it may not be, to be honest. what I plan on with this site is to just document things that I learn as I grow in my experience and knowledge of things in the Information Technology world. Whether it be Windows Server, Linux, Cisco or more broad topics such as Network Design/Engineering, Cyber Security or some other topic. Whatever topic I decide to learn or whichever direction my career takes me. (Can you see how I’m trying not to lock myself into any one topic?)

But… WHO am I?

As you can probably tell by the title of this site, my name is Matt Burks. I’m an IT Professional with over 20 years experience in the industry. The last 19 of that has been in Healthcare Information Technology. It’s a corner of the IT world that is ever changing and ALWAYS challenging.
